About
My interest in women’s health began when I was 18 years old and prescribed birth control pills to help regulate my menstrual cycle. The pill did work to regulate my cycle, but it was just a superficial solution. It surprised me that my doctor was only interested in masking my symptoms, she was indifferent to addressing the cause. As my interest in health and medicine evolved, I realized that the conventional medical world, though great at treating disease with drugs and surgical procedures, is inadequate when it comes to helping people obtain optimal health.
My own health transformed once I committed myself to look deeper, to search for root causes, and to explore natural therapies that worked with my body to restore balance. I stopped taking birth control pills, I added more dark leafy green vegetables and healthy sources of fat and protein to my diet, and I supplemented with key nutrients and herbs to help balance my hormones. I modified my exercise routine and incorporated more stress reducing activities like yoga and meditation. The results were life changing. Not only did my menstrual cycles become regular, my energy soared and stayed elevated all day long, my bloating disappeared, and I began to experience a higher of joy, focus, and motivation than I ever had before.
I founded and direct the women’s clinic at the Akasha Center for Integrative Medicine in Santa Monica, California. I am passionate about women’s health and partner with each of my patients to help them feel their very best while also providing the tools needed for healthy, vibrant aging.
When I’m not at work I love experiencing life with my three daughters and husband.
